How to easily drive to Port Canaveral?

Your cruise vacation is approaching!!!! Yay! Now the question is….how do I get to my port? Luckily you have come to the right place. Whether you are driving or flying, Straight Away Travel will provide you with the best option for you and your family to arrive safely at the port.

I AM DRIVING TO MY PORT….perfect! This can be a very convenient and flexible option. Here is how to plan your drive:

The first thing you want to do is research your port.  That means find the exact location and any specific directions or instructions provided by your cruise line. This can easily be found from the cruise lines website or googling your cruise line’s port address.

Secondly, you want to plan your route. Use GPS or mapping apps to plan your drive to the port. Always, consider travel hiccups like traffic, road closures, and construction. To ensure you are not late, consider leaving a day early and staying in a hotel near the terminal. Remember, your SAT agent will be happy to assist.  Plan to arrive at least 2 hours ahead of your ship’s scheduled departure time.

Port Canaveral has multiple terminals. And it’s personally my favorite port to drive too. That feeling you get when all of a sudden you see water on both sides of you AND your ship in the distance is the best!!! Make sure to keep your eyes on the road so you don’t miss those terminal cruise signs.

Please note once you exit off Interstate 95 for the final 20min of your drive, there aren’t any places to stop, unless you pass the cruise terminal and head into Coco Beach. So, plan accordingly and fill up on gas and any other last-minute items ahead of time.

Once you arrive at the port, there will be lots of signs and directions to guide you to the right terminal. Follow the signs and you will see many cruise workers assisting you along the way. The first place you will be directed to is the terminal entrance where you will unload your checked bags to a cruise porter. They will assist with transporting your luggage to the ship. It’s always a nice courtesy to give them a cash tip for their assistance.

Once you have unloaded your bags, you will park your vehicle. Port Canaveral has onsite parking which is very convenient. Parking pricing can be obtained ahead of time from the website or ask your SAT Advisor.  Be sure to secure or take any valuables with you before heading into the terminal. Once you have parked your vehicle, proceed to the cruise terminal to check in for your cruise! Have all your travel documents needed and ready for the check-in process.
